Heatbrain recently donated a site redesign to Symphony of Science - a pleasure and an honor. If you love science, or would just like to see another example of our work, I’d encourage you to visit it at
www.symphonyofscience.com.
The music videos there are an awesome combination of music and science, in an extremely viral form – online video. A large portion of the video footage is from Carl Sagan’s “Cosmos” – a 13-part series aired in 1980 on PBS. It won an Emmy and a Peabody, and brought comprehensive and cutting-edge scientific knowledge and thought to a very large audience.
We’re huge fans of Carl Sagan – it’s hard not to be. He was a scientist with amazing charisma and a contagious sense of wonder. Oddly enough, Sagan was unpopular among his peers in his time, but that’s another story…
Jane Goodall, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, and Stephen Hawking also make cameos – a who’s who of people that command respect and attention as they spread the good word and wonder of science, and have devoted their lives not only to the pursuit of knowledge, but also to passing that knowledge on.
Anyway, it’s wonderful to see Sagan and co. passed on to a new generation – the work at Symphony of Science is an impressive mix of funny, catchy, awe-inspiring, and informative. I can’t encourage you enough to check out the site, pass it on to friends, or even make a donation to the project.
