BlogEngine.net presented us with a cost effective way to integrate a scalable and customizable blog platform right into our customers’ websites – yielding exceptional search engine optimization benefits tied with a highly coordinated brand and aesthetic. The value is and was obvious.

We have decided that it’s time to take the next logical step when it comes to blogging and what we offer. Over the next month we will be developing our own blog platform (as opposed to customizing an open source solution, such as BlogEngine.net) which will marry our unique coding approach with an exceptionally scalable blog platform.

This new initiative will give us unprecedented freedom in virtually every aspect of our blog deployment. This ranges from the aesthetic (far more unique layouts, less template restrictions, etc) to integrated dynamic software.

We’re excited about this, because it means that (among other things) for you podcasters out there, you’ll be able to announce to iTunes that you’ve added a new podcast right from your blog (creating a double wammy effect of having your standard RSS feed dynamically updated as well as iTunes now receiving your podcast information). Interested in having an approval process for blog editors? All of this will now be possible.

For our customers who currently have BlogEngine.net installed on your website, don't worry -- you'll still be able to take advantage of any add-on features we decide to provide. If you decide to add additional features to your blog that requires the use of our new blog system, we will transfer over your BlogEngine site to a new Heatbrain blog at a significant discount.
